About APCRF CORPORATE REGISTERS - SHARING EXPERIENCES AND IDEAS INSPIRING INNOVATION Our Aim Our aim is to provide delegates with the opportunity to review the latest developments in corporate business registers in the Asia-Pacific region and exchange experiences and information on the present and future operation of corporate business registration systems. History The idea for the forum was first proposed in 1999.
The Ministry of Economic Development and the Companies Office hosted the inaugural Asia Pacific Corporate Registers Forum in Auckland, New Zealand on 26-28 February, 2003. Delegates from Australia, Canada, Cook Islands, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Mauritius, Samoa, Singapore, Tonga, the United Kingdom and Vanuatu attended. The inaugural Forum was extremely successful, with all delegates agreeing that the event should be held on an annual basis. Discussions held during the event proved that there is much to be gained from shared experience and it is hoped that the working relationships and plans formed in Auckland will be maintained in years to come. Sail and rope have been replaced by corporations and technology, but the pioneering spirit of mutual benefit and innovation endure. Rope has become the cable that connects today’s technology. We honour our ancestors by providing the highest standards of governance for our countries as once they charted their course.
